The Annual Tea Gardens Public School Easter Art and Craft Expo will go ahead this year over the Easter break, beginning with a fabulous Opening Night at the school on Thursday 21st April.

The theme for Opening Night is “Come and feel the Chemisty”, come along for an evening of wine tasting and delicious hors d’oeuvres/finger food.  This is an excellent opportunity to preview this year’s selection of artworks and purchase your favourite pieces.  Tickets are $25pp available from the school from Indigo Blue Homewares or from the front desk on the night starting at 6.30pm.

2011 marks the 34th anniversary of this prestigious local event, with the committee currently negotiating for a special guest artist to formally open the Expo.  Local artist Cheryl Cook has been invited to give a demonstration of botanical drawing, stay tuned for details.

Beautiful morning and afternoon teas with homemade cakes will be for sale all weekend and children’s activites – particularly useful if the weather turns sour!  Raffle tickets will also be sold for $1.00 each, the prize being a wonderful painting by Sydney artists Jan Stapleton, valued at $950.00.

The Easter Art and Craft Expo is organized by the Tea Gardens Public School P&C Association and is the school’s major annual fundraiser, with more than $12,000 having been raised at previous Expo’s.

Artists wishing to exhibit are invited to apply by completing an Entry form, available from the school office, website or from Indigo Blue.  Entries close on Monday 11th April.

General admission is only $2 per person, with children under 12 years admitted free.  The Easter Art and Craft Expo is open from Good Friday to Easter Tuesday, 9am until 5pm daily.  For those who are looking for something to do on ANZAC Day, the Expo will be open, as this holiday allows us to be open for an extra day this year.
