Tea Gardens Public School

“Honour before Honours”

The Annual Tea Gardens Public School Art Expo will go ahead this year over the Easter break, beginning with a fabulous Opening Night at the school on Thursday 1st April.

Guest artist Joshua Fennell will officially open the Exhibition on Opening Night, as well as run some demonstration workshops during the Easter break.

Other attractions over the weekend include a wonderful cake stall run by the Red Cross on Easter Saturday, and a children’s Craft Centre open all weekend – particularly useful if the weather turns sour!

A special feature of this year’s Expo is a display of local artworks curated by local arts group “Galleries in the Gardens” - an exciting collection and worth a visit.

Raffle tickets will also be sold for $1.00 each, first prize being a wonderful painting by Romantic Impressionist painter Peter Fennell.

The Art Expo is organized by the Tea Gardens Public School P&C Association and is the school’s major annual fundraiser, with more than $12,000 having been raised at previous Expo’s.  Funds are used to assist the school with capital purchases such as new computers, basketball facilities and canteen upgrades.

The P&C are particularly grateful to the Holiday Coast Credit Union and Hawks Nest First National Real Estate, for their generous donations towards the cost of delivering the Expo.

Artists wishing to exhibit are invited to apply by completing an Entry form, available from the school or from Indigo Blue.  Entries close on Friday 26th March 2010.

General admission to the Art Expo is only $2 per person, with children under 12 years admitted free.  The Expo is open from Good Friday to Easter Monday, 9am until 4pm daily.
